Who am I beyond design?

Who am I beyond design?

Beyond design, I’m just a curious human who loves people, problem-solving, and a good story. Always learning, always creating. Oh, and I make an incredible sourdough bread while overthinking the tiniest UX details!

I didn’t start out dreaming of UX Design. Had no idea what that was. For me, UX Designers were those people who were good with colours and made everything look pretty. It’s funny — if someone came up to me now and said the same thing, I’d probably roll my eyes and silently judge them. Isn’t it ironic?

In fact, my career began in Human Resources, where I spent nearly a decade helping people feel connected, valued, and supported at work. HR was fulfilling in so many ways; I was constantly engaged with people, learning what they needed to thrive and creating programs to help them grow personally and professionally and Ioved every minute of it.

But after years in the field, I started feeling the pull for a new challenge — one that would still allow me to make an impact on people’s lives but in a different, more innovative way. That’s when I stumbled onto UX Design, and it changed everything.

My inspirations and interests

Outside of my professional life, I find inspiration in two of my biggest passions—food and photography. Whether I’m experimenting with new recipes or capturing the perfect shot, these hobbies allow me to channel creativity in different forms, which often influences my design thinking.

Just like in UX, both food and photography require a balance of detail, aesthetics, and storytelling—something I try to bring into every project I work on.

Looking ahead

As I dive deeper into UX/UI design, what excites me most is creating experiences that feel effortless and meaningful for users. I love the challenge of turning complex problems into simple, beautiful solutions that just make sense.

I dream of working on projects that not only look great but genuinely make a difference for people. I’m also excited to explore how AI can enhance user experiences while keeping them human and intuitive.
